Description: Unlike the programmed pace of piano scrolls, readers can control their perceived narrative rhythm. By animating and repeating images, I challenge the idea of a stable matrix. This book ends with an image of a segmented, mapped body denoting it as a site where meaning is made.

Description: This book uses the scroll’s printed lyrics as narrative basis for my images that suggest various languages. Images of hands, body parts, American Sign Language, glyphs & marks evoke the immense variety of ways we perceive and communicate information.
